The day after: Hangover edition

Not a single drop of booze yesterday. None, zero. Yet I wake up today feeling like someone somewhere was drinking, a lot.

Should we have had breathalyzers on the sideline testing Lombardi? Perhaps some special tools designed to remove a persons head from his posterior? 2 targets for one of if not the best WR in the game prior to the garbage time drive to end the game? There is no excuse for that. NONE.

How about Austin? The "architect" of the best D the Lions have had in a very long time. What happened to his magic? Did he pimp slap a voodoo witch in the last six months? Austin is going to have to wake up fast before this thing gets out of hand. The Chargers killed us with a thousand tiny cuts. Eerily similar to the way the Jaguars were successful against us in the 3rd preseason game. A game we were told didn't matter. Apparently the coaches believed their own bullshit because they didn't have a fucking clue how to stop it when it mattered almost three weeks later. Every notice how it takes the Lions weeks to identify and correct a problem?

And then we have Papa Caldwell. The man looks dead on the sideline. Does he have a pulse? Being even handed and cool is great and all but once in a while a team needs someone to blow up and light a fire under their asses. As much as I am happy Suh is gone, I am, he was that guy last year. Who is that guy now? It sure as hell isn't anyone on offense and if that guy is on defense, I can't see him. That leaves coaches and only one of them has the authority to make a difference, Caldwell. Unfortunately, he has the personality of a cardboard cutout. You could light that cutout on fire and it would show more emotion than Caldwell.

I should have been drinking yesterday.
