Ring the Cow Bell 1200 times

Joique Bell has set a high bar for himself during this coming season. He believes he is going to run for 1200 plus yards this season. For a little history, a Lions RB hasn't done that since The Sainted Barry did in 1998. Good luck Joique.

Ok, What the Hell, Putting Megatron and Cutler on the same list?

According to PFF and that other four letter site CJ and Cutler belong on this list together. I get it. CJ is paid a boat load of money. I get it, he was hurt way too much last year. I get it, that salary demands elite end plus production....

But....

There is one fundamental, undeniable, absolutely profound difference between these two players. One is a cancer, the other is the cure. Putting them in the same sentence seems like nothing more than blatant click bait.

Does anyone have insider? I would like the skinny on the reasoning for their decision.

Lions Sign Safety Taylor Mays

According to Adam Schefter our Lions have signed former Niner, Bengal and most recently Viking Safety Taylor Mays. This fills the recently freed up roster spot with the cutting of Bill Bentley.

Apparently, the vikings Signed Mays this off season and didn't like what they saw in three months of off season action, so they cut him and we signed him.

This seems like an odd signing. Mays is basically a LB/S hybrid. The Lions, as a team, are deepest at those positions. If Mays is going to find a spot on the Lions 53 man roster, he will make it as a special team stud

Another one bites the dust! Sigh.......

Our Lions have waived Bill "Brittle" Bentley. That ends his injury plagued career in Detroit after three seasons with 18 games played of a possible 48. Not exactly a shining beacon for another team to claim him off waivers but who knows, perhaps someone else will give him a shot. I hope so because I always liked him as a player when he wasn't hurt. He wasn't afraid to get into the mix and make a tackle in the run game and he seemed like a hard worker.

Good luck Mr. Bentley.

This move frees up a spot on the Lions 90 man roster and at present, there is no news who if anyone has been signed to fill it.

BTW, three strikes and you are out Mayillen. Three CBs taken in that draft, three failures.

Teams that could be a surprize in 2015

Every season the NFL has it's share of teams that surprise fans by either exceeding expectations or by taking a dump for the season.  Last year we saw teams like the Saints, Falcons, and the Niners disappoint their fan bases while teams like the Cowboys, Cardinals,Texans and the Lions give some renewed hope to their respective followers.   Lets take a look at a one team that we Lions fans should not overlook this season.

Lions keep churning the bottom of the roster.

Detroit has signed TE David Ausberry today and released DB Nathan Lindsey to make room for him on the 90 man roster.

Horray!! More TE depth.

Anyone know anything about this kid?

Oh, and for some reason, I can post new posts but cant comment on anything. SBNation won't let me sign in successfully to the site but I can sign in the front end of the site but I can work the back end of the site. I am sure it is something on my side. I will figure it out.

I guess Miami is the place to be

CJ Mosley has decided to sign with the Fins. I have nothing to add to this. He doesn't want to play here. Cool, good luck.

It is going to be an interesting year for us Lions fans. Interesting to say the least.

C.J. "Detector Disabler" Mosley anyone?

According to Kyle Meinke that could happen. Even more interesting, a "source" says that smoke detector incident was misreported. Going so far as to say that Mosley in fact didn't disconnect the dectector, is not a pot smoker, wasn't smoking weed that day and has never tested positive in his ten seasons as a NFL player. Of course, that same "source" failed to explain why there was weed in Mosley's room.

Ok, after taking a big old bite of that BS sandwich, I can't help but snicker. What a load of crap. So, either Mosley was covering for someone else who had possession of weed in his room and left it there or he is full of shit? But if he was covering for someone else, why was the detector disabled? Was he covering for someone else on that too?

Lions move Proctor from DT to OT?

Say what? The Lions announced today they have moved Xavier Proctor from DT to OT!!!

Why? We have depth at OT and nothing but questions at DT.

We also have Michael Williams who we moved from TE to OT a couple seasons ago.

Lions OTAs continuing today.

I believe the Lions will be running 7 on 7, 9 on 9 and 11 on 11 drills during this phase of the off season program. Of course, this is without pads but it gives the coaches and players a better idea where they are and what they have to do to get further along the slider of being ready for the first preseason game.

Let us hope we can continue our luck on the practice injury front!!!

Go Lions.
