Tate being Tate and our coaches sucking

Per Detroit Sports 105.1 Golden Tate has had opposing defensive players call out Detroit's offensive plays in each of the three games the Lions have played so far. When Tate was asked about this Josh Katzenstein report in which Broncos CB Bradley Roby said about the Lions offense: "We pretty much knew what they were gonna do, and they did it."

Tate's response was....

I haven't heard that yet from that player. I didn't read anything about it but that's not the first time this year that another player has said that. I've had a couple occasions in literally each game, where they called out our play for one, then afterwards been like "hey, we knew what you guys were doing". I don't know how they know or what film they're watching that we're giving away...that's something we got to go back and watch our tendencies to figure out where we line up or how we line up or what formation or whatever it may be. We've got to figure it out because we're clearly giving away. All three weeks, a player's come up to me and said "we knew what you were going to do." That's bad.
Does anyone remember Drew Brees saying this during Super Bowl week last season?
"Listen, you could watch a Detroit game from this year in front of me right now, I could call 95% of the plays," Brees said. "Absolutely. Probably 70% of them before you even hit the play button. Just by looking at the formation, 'All right, it's this.' "
Three weeks in a row the defensive players from the other teams have been calling out our play before we run it. Three weeks in a row our "coaches" haven't been able to do anything to prevent it even with a Super Bowl winning player calling our coaches out on it!!! How the FUCK are we supposed to win when that shit is going on? Perhaps it is time (long overdue) to scrap the Taints offense that the entire league knows now by heart and go with something a little more cutting edge, ASAGDMFP. Call me pragmatic but running an offense that was out of date half a decade ago just doesn't seem like the smart thing to do.

It does seem weird to me that Tate is airing that kind of dirty laundry out to the public. I am sure Caldwell and LomNoti aren't too happy about it. I have to wonder. Is this Tate's way of not so subtly calling out our coaches who are clearly failing both in preparation and scheme design?

When these type of things start making their way out of the locker room it suggests there is a growing division between the players and the coaches.

    1. 100% agreed. The status quo is getting our guys killed out there, Stafford in particular. I would have prefered it had been Matt but Tate is better than no one stepping up.

Matt just doesn't seem to have that leadership in him. He has brass balls but he doesn't seem to have that next level leadership you want from a QB... but that is another story.
