It has been really quiet....
I am suspicious. Things shouldn't be this quiet. Our GM better not be sitting on his hands. There is a ton of work to be done and players are being snapped up.
History tells us that 90% of the time. The teams making noise at this point are the idiots. I have no issues with the silence. Work the market, zero in on a few guys who actually fit what you do, schedule visits & don't let the fuckers outta the building. Right now, there's just a bunch of surplus money being thrown away on big names. Look at Malik Jackson going to JAX. 4th highest paid DT in the game, about to begin his Jaguar career in a new system, with no Ware & Miller to draw double assignments. Take a good guess how that'll end.
I don't see that as any confirmation of that whatsoever. Tell me, what have the Hawks, Pats, Pack, Cards or others that are "close" done in the legal tampering period?........that's rhetorical. This team is no where near a rebuild. 2009 is a rebuild. This team is mediocre as it currently stands.
And I'm sorry. This is not a rebuild. I think the impact of Calvin Johnson has been wildy overstated. We didn't win shit with Calvin Johnson....all we've lost is his intimidation factor & the headache that comes with trying to get him 15 targets a game so Mlive doesn't go into an uproar. This is a team that made the playoffs just 2 seasons ago. This is a team that started 1-7 with that fuckin idiot for an OC & finished 7-9. Defend a hail mary & hold on to the fucking ball on the goalline in SEA *cough* Calvin *cough*, things that our TOTALLY in our control & you can flip 7-9 to 9-7. A mere 9-7 would've been enough to make the playoffs in the NFC. Also worth pointing out the Carolina Panthers went 7-9 just last season. They STILL have a ton of holes(every team does), many of which were exposed in the SB. This ain't a rebuild, sorry to clash with that narrative. But the nicest way I can put it is....that's a croc of shit lol. The team as it stands right now is good enough to make the playoffs. The entire offseason is yet to play out. A quality, impact draft can immediately make us a team that can go beyond a simple playoff berth.

I also can't shake the feeling that Quinn has too, not wants too, rip this team apart a bit before he can start to build it in a way he thinks is the right way.
Random thought. Mlive commenters have got to be the dumbest sons of bitches I've ever had the displeasure of reading on the internet. It's fuckin embarrassing. It's downright scary that there are people out there in the world THAT stupid & they will be given a vote that in part determines the leader of the free world. I don't care who you vote for if it's an informed decision. These people aren't informed. It's alarming how brazen they are with the BS they say.
