Ramblings

Levy on IG calling out the NFL - I like it. the follow up I read had him eloquently stating his case, even comparing it to the cigarette industry warnings , let people know the risks.

Caldwell mentions Swanson getting pushed at center and has to compete and earn it.
The guy pushing him might be great, he was good in college. He's also an UDFA. Ikard

  1. How about Quinn saying he isn't bringing the Patriot's way to Detroit, instead, he is bringing his way.

“I don’t think you can take the Patriot way to Detroit. I think it has to be my way. The things I learned from New England, obviously, I’m going to take with me and try to implement them. New England’s a special place. And I learned most if not everything I know about the NFL from the people at the Patriots, starting with coach Belichick and Mr. Kraft. I want to create my own legacy in Detroit and use the things I’ve learned in New England. It’s not the Patriot way.”

I get it, he wants to earn his own chops and all that but the Patriot way is winning. If his way ends up winning, it will be the patriot way. Not really sure what he is trying to say here....

    1. I hadnt seen that quote - interesting. The more I think about it though I think Marvin was a top target in FA even with Calvin and they had a price in mind for him... about what it seems like they've had in mind for other free agents like Okung... and by not going all in to make sure they get those guys makes me think maybe he will take time and build the full team but he did try and get those guys too.

For him to make the "lions way" a thing, he'll need to win for a while to separate that NE way. His ego sounds healthy in these quotes, yet almost defensive....
