Put that foot out there.....

The draft is in, the off season is basically done. There might be some minor moves here and there but we are where we are as a football team. The time is now, proclaim your faith brothers. How many wins will the lions have in the coming season?

  1. 7 wins.

I want a ton more and will root for a ton more but I have a problem with our defense after the exodus of talent from our D line. In the perfect world, our offense would pick up the slack that our D is no longer able to replicate from the previous season. The problem, Matthew Stafford.

  2. 10-12 wins for this team. The inept offense will be come a strength of this team... one that will also become less reliant on a defense that may not have the DT talent of last year, but will still finish in the top 10 thanks to Austin's coaching ability.

The game is won in the trenches. Lions Oline will prove to be just that, adding an explosive running game with Abdullah and Bell.

    1. I really do hope you are right. I just don't see the offense improving that much. They might be better but I can't see them improving enough to make up for the predictable loss of talent on the D side of the ball.

Side note, great screen name. Were you a POD member? Would we know your name from there?

    2. Censored
      Lion
      Fan

Do you think you are the only Lion fan to be banned from a site?

That being said... the only way the Lions offense can improve from last year is in the running game. If you think this draft did not improve the running game... put down the arsenic and by some koolaid.

    3. lol, of course I don't think I am the only Lions fan to be banned from that site or any other for that matter. That would be both stupid and arrogant. I am neither or at the very least, I humor myself.

I am not trying to attack you by asking what your POD name was and or is. When POD went nuclear with censoring bans, I couldn't help but ask with your name. I made the assumption you where banned there because of the coincidental timing and your name. I apologize. Just curious but it really doesn't matter. You are here and contributing in a constructive way. That is more than good enough.

Thank you for being a part of our world brother. Your input is absolutely welcome and valued. Keep it up. I love having different points of view on our team.

Truth be told, we are always looking for new authors for this blog and I thought, if you were a POD member, we might have had enough history of your posting that we could extend a invite to you so that you might, if you wanted too, add an article now and then.

    4. Uh... CLF.

It's an anagram. I wasn't banned from POD, but the name was created about 11yrs ago after being banned from another site.... that actually used ISP addresses to ban...lol.... I had to use a ISP blocking program to create a new ID... what a hassel, I left and found POD.

    5. I wondered if it was you but didn't want to make any assumptions. Did you get the invite we sent you for authoring? If not, we can resend it. Or we can send it to another email if you would prefer to use a different email addy for it.

    6. Google blogs has a stupid quirk.... I can't change my 'gmail' name, nor my google name, nor use a nickname.... with out affecting the whole google account. So I'll stick with posting with my wordpress account rather than making a new Gmail account. If you can connect the wordpress account, let's do it... other than that, I'm content with just posting.

    7. I just need an email to send the invite. Unless that is the same email. then we are stuck as far as I am aware.

  3. I pick 7. On paper the Lions really did not get better and are facing a very difficult schedule to start the season. Not really sure that the o-line got better. Can Laken play LG? Who is going to play RT? There are depth issues for several position groups.

Not really sold on Ameer seemed to run out of stream towards the end of the season only one 100 yard game in the last 5. Had 4 games against weak opponents that got him over half of his rushing yards for the season.

    1. Not a huge fan of hearing that about Ameer. I was hoping he might be more than a 3rd down, have to save him up, kind of RB.

    2. Ameer had a MCL sprain down the stretch of the season you described.... just sayin'...

Laken is a better all around OG than Warford.... digest that for a second.

Waddle, Lucas, Williams, the 7th round pick....

Seriously... it's not that I don't disagree, its the timing of the doom'n'gloom. Personally, I can't wait for training camp to see where these guy fall into the depth chart.

This year's oline is one of the deepest the Lions have ever had.
