Lions Have an Issue With the Offer Sheet George Johnson Signed With Tampa Bay

Per Rotoworld:

The Lions are disputing the offer sheet DE George Johnson signed with the Buccaneers.
The deal is worth $9 million over three years. The Lions likely have a problem with the language in the deal. The contract was sent to the NFL for approval. The deadline for Detroit to match the offer sheet is technically 4pm ET today, but it sounds like the situation could drag out another day or two.

I am thinking that the Lions do want to sign Johnson or why even question the language in the offer sheet.  It probably comes down to the dollar amount in the first year and/or the guaranteed money and performance bonuses. Either way this is an interesting development

UPDATE:

Looks like this will go the route of bringing in an independent arbiter which could take another 10 days before something gets done.
