Shocking.... (ok, no it is not)

With all the changes and non changes (not new, new prez) that are on going with the Lions. One thing seems obvious. The team is making aggressive moves to strengthen its PR machine. Today, 97.1 announced it had lost the broadcast rights to Lions games. The reasoning, according to 97.1....

"CBS Radio and the Detroit Lions are parting ways," Kenyon said. "97.1 The Ticket has served as the flagship station for the Lions for more than a decade. CBS Radio says it has been negotiating with the Lions a long time.
"It is sad to say goodbye, but in the end it came down to the integrity of CBS — the refusal to be censored in talking about the team and making honest assessments on the air about this team."

Essentially, the Lions wanted their radio coverage to be a Lions PR bullshit spewing mouth piece for the team instead of actually talking about reality. CBS refused to do it and they lost the Lions as a result of their journalistic integrity.

One less platform for real Lions reporting, instead of the tripe the local papers try to feed us. Stuff like, the win in GB was all Martha Ford (serious bullshit) or stuff this week like Slay being a top 10 CB (more bullshit). Seriously people, Martha had nothing to do with the Lions winning in GB. It was the Lions playing just a touch better and GB for the last three weeks playing some of the worst offense I have seen them play in the entire Rodgers era. And Slay, does anyone remember when a dead armed QB named Payton was torching Slay left and right? Does anyone remember those multiple weeks when big play slay meant big play for the other team. But we are to believe, from the Lions mouth piece media outlets, that he has turned some corner because the other teams offense is a wreck and their QB decided the CB across from Slay was easier pickings and somehow that means he has turned the corner and is a top 10 CB. Give me a fucking break.

Wake up people. The tripe you are being fed is rancid. Everyone knows it and so many just keep on eating it.

BTW, now we are hearing that the Lions demanded that 97.1 fired Valenti or they wouldn't renew their contract with them. Just wow. Seriously, pathetic. People and the Lions hate Valenti because of the message he sent out there. The lions for almost 60 years have been a joke and Valenti wasn't afraid to tell his listeners the truth.

This looks incredibly bad for the Lions. Just wow.
